Introducing the Skywatcher FlexTube
Auto-Tracking Fully-Motorised Dobsonian.
It is the Ultimate in Dobsonian design, the
patented collapsible FlexTube(tm) system with a 254mm parabolic
primary mirror for ultimate performance & portability, has now been
combined with powerful dual-axis servo motors and encoders in the
base unit. Now enjoy the luxury of Automatically Slewing and
Tracking celestial objects, with the FlexTube's precision
diffraction-limited optics with easy handset commands.
Never before has owning a large high quality
telescope been so convenient. Now you don't need to worry about
constantly repositioning the telescope with the addition of
AutoTracking. Objects no longer drift through the eyepiece field of
view, leaving you to observe more critically and at your own pace.
The convenience of AutoTracking opens up the
possibility of lunar and planetary imaging - without the need for
enormous Equatorial mounts or the fuss of polar alignment. The
AutoTracking handset allows you to set the local latitude, enhancing
the tracking accuracy for astronomical targets.
The controller has 6 different slewing speeds -
32x, 64x and 600x when tracking is turned off and Guide (1x) Slow
(4x) and Fast (8x) when tracking is activated.
Because each axis has encoders, the Skywatcher
can still be moved manually over large areas of sky.
Once your target is centred in the eyepiece
activate the tracking and you are ready to observe. You still get to
enjoy the convenience of Skywatcher's Flex Tube design so the
Skywatcher Auto-Tracking Fully-Motorised Dobsonian will fold down to
a more compact size for transportation and storage. Skywatcher
